Washing Coal-y Dog

So we've 2 rough collies (1 is retriever cross, but with same thick coat) who wangled their way into the shed where we keep our coal, opened a bag and had a good roll around.

We've washed them since and given them a good brushing, but their coats are still very grimy from the coal dust. Even when we're rubbing them now, you're left with a layer of grime on your hand that doesn't seem to be disappearing.

Any tips on a particular dog shampoo that might be good for this sort of thing?

If you're anywhere near the ocean I'd recommend that...followed by a good roll in the sand

That's a good idea actually - we're about 30 mins from the beach so very doable, but one is a little sea shy.
