Hi, I'm 18 and I just passed my full test and I'm looking to be insured on an 07 1.2 corsa petrol. I am close to a years named driving experience but I'm being quoted for like €5,500.. any help?

I know my nephew (aged 19) got insured through coverinaclick.ie after he passed his test last year. They say they specialise in insurance for young drivers and learner drivers. Don't know exactly what he paid, but I do remember him saying it was about €1,000 less than any other quote he got.

It's still going to be steep though........

It's so frustrating, how can I get more driving experience if I can't pay for the insurance? It's a vicious circle

Try campion, coverinaclick and firs Ireland.
    They give me quotes 3500-3800.
But I'm looking for cheaper ...

I got insured with Axa first time for 2500 but they monitored my driving, if that is something you are willing to do then a few companies offer cheap insurance in return for allowing them to monitor your driving.. I done it for the first year then once I passed my test moved on to another company for far cheaper insurance. Unfortunately it is something everyone has to put up with for their first insurance policy, if you have an experienced driver you can add as a named driver it will bring it down a bit

    Axa was through a broker?
What companies give such opinion with monitoring?

What car are you looking to get insured out of interest?

Sorry ignore this I see your first post. My first car was 1.2 Fiat Punto so insurance has obviously gone up a lot since then!

Would waiting until you have a year's associated no claim insurance be worthwhile?

I also think they load cars over 10 years old.
