I've noticed a drone hovering over and around my garden 2 times the last week. I'm a good shot with a sling shot, is it fair game to shoot it down? , I felt quite annoyed having a camera hovering over me.

Yep. I’d Do the same if it was some clown annoying me with one over my gaff.

Odds are you'll just miss, possibly smash something unintended.

And then the two youngfellas at the controls will be extra intrigued, and go full troll.

If you do hit it they'll egg your house.

Better off going back indoors and pondering exactly why you actually give a shyte.

    You own a drone?
They could be eyeing up the place for a robbery, perving?
Anyway it felt like an invasion of privacy, what if a lad pulled up outside your place and started filming? Or out your back garden?

Tried a Lazer pointer first worked for a while but the fella who owned it kept acting the maggot.

I seen one of those hovering over my home about 6 months ago, and as some poster said here, they could be eyeing up the place for a robbery, I had not thought of that, there is a business operating out of my yard, and I will be taking much more notice of this in future,

I live in a built up estate. But my daughter's bedroom is at the back of the house.
The drone was always flying low had her freaking out camera was always at windows .
One shot and pellets took it down it landed in neighbours garden I retrieved it brought it to Garda station told them story never heard back

Not for much longer if he discharged it in a built up area. And you told the Gardaí :pac:

I brought drone to Garda Incase some pervert owned maybe they could trace it.
Garda wasn't that interested he just laughed and said he had no way to trace a drone

Well the equivalent in this case would be if he pulled up outside my place on a big wheel tricycle.

Its some kids Arnold. Relax. go inside and shout at the tv instead.

    Hijack it.

Buy a cheap drone and kamikaze it into theirs.

That’s the trick. Attach a bit of netting to the underside of yours. Get above the other drone and drop Down onto it. Problem solved.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,298 ✭✭✭Snotty

Some of those catapults, the black widow type, would take one of those down fairly quickly and if there's only fields in the direction your firing, no consequences if missed.

Firing off a shotgun out a bedroom window. That won't freak out the neighbors.

So the neighbours contending with crasy drone man or shotgun man.

There are jammers available online and although im quite sure there are legal issues with using them, id happily defend my property with one and deal with the consequences later.

The idea of deploying a cheap interceptor drone is a good one. Keep it out of the camera line of the offender and he wouldnt know anything about it until his machine came tumbling down.

This is exactly why you need a .22LR minigun for these yokes:

I have "heard" that using an Airsoft AEG with a high rate of fire has a fairly disabling effect on most drones.

It's great fun hosing them at 600rounds per minute I've been told....
