    Hi,
So saw brown stains on our ceiling yesterday. This is on the ground floor. The second floor above it is a concrete floor. Guessing the leak may be coming from a heating pipe running across the ceiling or something. Just wondering how much of a hassle fixing this sort of thing usually is, with it being a concrete floor above?

No idea how they construct flooring. I guess there is a cavity below the floor above, where light fittings etc go. Would the pipes run along that also or would they be within the concrete in some way?

    Chris.

    Chris.

How old is the house? There could be a possibility that you has some water in the chambers of the hollowcore slabs, and the water is making its way down now.
Other than that, it could be leak on a pipe.
Usually a metal frame suspended ceiling is used to support the slabs.
The leak may not be exactly above where the stain is (water running back down a pipe), so you may have to cut a few holes in the ceiling to find it, if it is a pipe.

House was built round 2007. Wasnt sure what sort of way they constructed the ceiling and laid pipes etc. Cheers for the info. Hopefully will be like that and not to much hassle to sort.
