Pipe cleaner in water tank

    Hi guy's,

We've had a few problems with limescale buildup and herself thought it was a good idea to throw pipe/drain cleaner into the storage tank in the attic to try and sort the issue. The water is flowing better...only now the water is contaminated, fantastic :D what's the best way to flush the chemicals out, just turn on all taps etc until it's diluted to nothing. Any advice would be great.

If its heavy duty stuff that you put in, something that says don't let it come into contact with skin or eyes, I'd personally drain the system down. I'd remove the hot water cylinder and bring it outside & power wash it. The cold water tank can be cleaned while empty too.

Maybe that's overkill but I wouldn't fancy anyone showering with the possibility of drain cleaner in the bottom of the hot water cylinder.
