Is everybody a guru nowadays? Thinking of friends, acquaintances and work colleagues. People are very strong with their views, thinking they know it all. Random hypothetical scenario: I’m in the company of others, I mention I have flies in my kitchen. Cue such a person saying it’s because of X and I should totally do Y, in order to get rid of the flies.

    Mod note:

OP can you please clarify if this relates to a personal issue for you? I'm afraid general discussion is not allowed in PI/RI.

    Hi OP,

I'll close the thread now as it's not a personal issue. Just to clarify, this is an advice forum, so threads should only be created here if you have a specific personal issue as opposed to looking for general discussion.

There are plenty of other forums on boards that are suited to general discussion. For example, After Hours. There is also a Ranting & Raving forum, however you need to request access and there are certain criteria you need meet in order to be granted access:
    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057757954

Your post here wasn't very clear, but maybe have a browse of the different forums to see what bests suits your needs.

    All the best,
    Woodchuck
