Hi, My sisters house in Rush has had only hot water for 2 days now but no cold water from her kitchen sink. Upstairs bathroom flushed but cistern took longer to refill. Tap out in her back garden was working. Her neighbours is ok. A national water engineer come out earlier today to be sure it wasnt mains related and established it wasnt.
Since then now she has no water at all from anywhere in house or tap outside. Its a very old house on the main street. I turned it off and on again from the mains stop cock earlier today but didnt seem to make any difference. Strangely the outside tap in garded still worked with stop cock turned off.

Any possible reasons or suggestions or any info ive left out?.

EDIT: The earliest she can get a plumber is Monday morning.

Can you find the stop cock in the house?

Actually no!. She never knew where it was from when moving in a few years ago. So an update she realised she had plumming cover on her house insurance and the guy came out and couldnt find it so she will have to wait until monday where there is a guy to come out who might know.
I think failing that Dublin Council will need to do a survey to find out with old maps etc if there are any as these houses are over 100 years old.
