Unused dishwasher

We have a dishwasher that has been sitting idle for about 3 years. I wanted to start using it recently but I read that it's not worth it as they can leak after prolonged idleness?

Anyone have any issues with them?

It should be fine. There's nothing in modern appliances that perishes. This may have been a problem 50+ years ago when you might have encountered rubber hoses.

Just check the machine over and run a wash at full temperature with a dishwasher tablet to clean it out and it should work fine.

Issues with stored dishwashers or dishwashers in general?
