Hey , I've been having alot of problems with losing the wifi connection . The network literally disappears when trying to connect to it . It works perfectly fine through Ethernet connection to an android box . The smart tv also loses a connection so unable to stream Netflix on it at times . I've opened three separate fault tickets . They reset the router , changed the channels on it & made other adjustments . Yet the problem persists. Never had this problem before . No new hardware or devices have been introduced into the house to cause any interference .
Anyone else have any issues like this ?

I'm thinking they are avoiding providing me with a replacement router with all this messing they are doing. Can the wifi go in a modem ? They say the line is fine and Ethernet connection is fine so I'm assuming the wifi hardware in it has become faulty .

Lennyzip - just plug out your modem and ring in and say there are no lights at all lighting on your modem or its not powering up - they will then have to send you out a replacemet :D

Eventually after numerous chat sessions and a lengthy call , I got a replacement modem . Under the condition I renew the contract . I was told it would be free of charge . Modem arrived, everything sorted . Wi-Fi working brilliantly. My old modem didn't support 5ghz. It's unreal now .
Got my bill today and the swines charged me . Just off a session now with the chat . Waiving the €40 charge . Have to wait 48 hours for it to be processed. I made sure they added a note to the account that I am to be refunded so that if it's not , I don't have to explain myself again . The joys of eir support..

Did they make you enter into a new 12 or 18 month contract? If they did then it was totally unfair.

12 month contract . They would have charged me €40 because I was out of contract for the replacement modem.Tbf , I'm totally happy with the broadband. It's the best available for where I live . We dont have Virgin in the area so the best I can get is 100mb. And it's always been solid , apart from the recent issue with the modem . But that's sorted now .
The wife was getting onto me about the wifi because it was costing her money on her phone as the wifi would go down and eat into her allowance on the phone . Was making streaming on my tablet totally unusable for iptv too.Due to a house alarm , I need the line . I would obviously jump at Siro . It was due to be available soon but didn't want to go through all that hassle . Hopefully sometime 1gb will be provider by eir . I know they provide it elsewhere .

You are aware, that you actually have a lot of choices and not just Eir, right ?

    Here's the list: https://fibrerollout.ie/rollout-map/where-to-buy/

The house alarm can be moved to gsm and most monitoring companies will offer you that.

I am aware of course . I'm renting though and that's why my hands were slightly tied. I would have had to consult the landlord who currently lives in England about switching the setup of the alarm system . It was not a road I wanted to go down . I probably should have mentioned that earlier. As I said, I'm happy with Eir . The top speed I can get is 100mb in my particular area .
I've researched all the other providers and they can only provide what I already have.
For the moment, getting Siro would be too much hassle . I'm hoping down the line Eir will provide 1GB .
