Since my collection is at 12 watches now. 6 quartz and 6 Automatics I have implemented the rule a watch must go before another comes in. So if I'm getting a quartz a quartz goes and if I'm getting an automatic an automatic goes.

So I'm looking to add a 36mm automatic to my collection so one of my autos has to go. Which one do you think I should sell?

    IMG-20190402-173548-262.jpg

The Explorer and the Turtle PADI are not going anywhere.

Please give your choice and reason for said choice.

    Thanks guys

    That is a nice collection.
What are you looking for in a 36mm auto?

I know a very genuine guy who has some lovely vintage Omegas. All small 34-46mm.

Way too small for my meat danglers, but lovely pieces.

    What floats your boat?

Black Bay 36mm or some 36mm Rolex.

Although if I seen a nice 36mm omega that could all change :)

I always liked the Seiko divers, but not the Padi branding (I used to dive with CMAS). So for me they would be first to go. Which probably doesn't help you.
What kind of prices are you looking for?

The SRP777 ( i assume its a standard black turtle).
    Reasons:
    - you have a turtle you want to keep (PADI).
    - You have a bunch of nicer black faced watches.
    - You have a bunch of other dive watches.
    - Assuming you consider any of these watches "beaters", or at least saturday doing diy around the house watches, both the PADI's can fill that role.

Unless its sentimental, the SRP777 is the clear winner (or loser) in the race to fliptown.

What's the reference of the white faced Seiko?

Looks like a SARB035. Lovely watch, now discontinued but can still be obtained. Well worth getting if it floats your boat as they will only get more expensive. Im not saying they will ever be worth a fortune, but I can see them easily getting double their original price of 300 quid in a few years.

Same for the SARB033 and 017.
Case in point is the SARB059, 400 quid when available but now rare enough to have asking prices of 900 - 1000 quid.

Also, never noticed before now that the 033 & 035 have a slightly different handset!

It's actually the SBDY015 which is the Japanese version of the SRP777 that came out last year there is no real difference as far as I know though

    This is it https://www.seiko-watch.co.jp/collections/en/prospex/SBDY015

But yes I see where you are coming from. I have no real connection to it only I bought it while on holiday in Japan and wanted to have standard turtle with a rubber strap in my collection with it being one of my favrote Seiko watches.

But yes no point in having 2 or is there haha I don't know!!

Haha I think that will fall under the Automatic grouping.

As nice as all those watches look, the sheer class of the Rolex really stands out.

It just looks so much better to the eye doesn't it?

I wouldn't agree. It's a dressier watch, but thsts the style of the watch. Throw an seiko SARX beside it and it will look just as classy when surrounded by a bunch of big divers.
Not saying the rolex isn't an aswsome watch, but I don't think it looks any classier.

Love the Explorer, just pure class. Very small though. I reckon it'd be too small for me.

The white faced Seiko would be out for me. Don't like it. Do like all the others though! And what's the story with your 12 watches when you only show us 6? :D
