Any Advice on a Loan for a Mature student

    Hi all,

My friend is trying to apply for a student loan from AIB for an MBA which he will be attending in September.

AIB has been pretty bad at providing any information or support on this.

He is in Ireland currently as a student working 20 hours (visa restriction) and studying also. However, he has been offered an MBA course due to start in September, which he is really interested in.

He decided to apply for a loan to cover the costs, but AIB refused (after making him fill out 3 incorrect forms). The repayments would be very affordable and he has very little expenses.

AIB have told him to try again in 3 months, but not much will change in that time-frame - financially. So it sounds like a time-waste from them.

Has anyone on here been accepted for a loan working these limited hours, or is it even worth trying again? Perhaps applying for less money and supplemented the rest with savings is a possibility? Any information or tips appreciated.
