    Hi all,

Just looking for a recommendation for a good moisturiser for my hands, I suffer with Raynauds and my hands get badly cracked and dry on and between my knuckles and I get those nasty little cuts and most hand creams I have tried just irritate and sting my hands :(

    Thanks in advance

Maybe baby lotion and cotton gloves atop?

I have the same problem and and used lots of different creams, some expensive, some not. The best by far for me was Neutrogena norweigan formula hand cream, its not scented so doesnt irritate and within two days of using it a few times a day, my hands are much better. The Elizebeth Arden eight hour cream is also good but a lot more expensive. I'd use that when my hands are already in good enough condition anyway.
The Neutrogena is well worth a try, only about a fiver and a little goes a long way.
Aveeno hand cream is good too .
I wouldnt use baby lotion..well, not Johnsons anyway, that can sting if you have cracked skin and would not moisturise enough.
You can get the neutogena in the supermarket. Aldi do a version in similar packaging which is supposed to be as good, but I havent tried that yet.

I don't know anything about your condition, but I'm a huge fan of Aveeno moisturisers - they're unscented and really good. Available in all chemists and supermarkets. I've given up on all scented "branded" moisturisers for body and hands (I know Aveeno is s brand as well!)

Another vote for Aveeno but Silcock's Base and Emulsifying Ointment are good for washing and moisturising your hands as well. They're oily so good to use going to bed at night.

To look at my knuckles right now you would think I'd been in a fist fight! Thanks for all your replies, we actually have silcocks base at home so will put some on before bed tonight too

I use these from Lidl. I wash my hands a lot in work due to the nature of my job, I use silcocks base for that then moisturise my hands with the hand cream every time. I use the concentrate one 2-3 times a day as well. They didn't fix the problem of course but they have drastically reduced the severity of it for me at least.

I also suffer with this, I use aveeno brand. Can I just ask what medication you are on or how you are treating it? Thanks

Aveeno seems to be getting a lot of votes.. I used Silcocks base over the weekend and it has helped, hand are a lot better today.

I'm not on any medication for it, was diagnosed when I was 12 and have never been on medication, to be honest I didn't know there was medication available for it? . I try keep my hands as warm as possible during cold weather , exercise to keep the circulation flowing and try to eat a healthy diet , I eat a lot of oily fish and try to incorporate a lot of garlic & ginger into my diet. It is only in the last year or 2 that the dry & cracked skin has started to appear.

My doctor put me on a medication that's supposed to help open the blood vessels for better circulation but it didn't work for me so I stopped taking it,
