Hey I'm both a PAYE and self employed earner. I have a very small income and so do my returns myself. Anyway I'm due a refund for emergency tax in 2018. I can't submit a P21 or form 12 online as it's saying I'm registered for income tax for the year.

So what can I do. I rang Revenue and they were absolutely no help whatsoever. ROS is like a mindful, something about certificates, haven't a clue.

So is there another way should as a PDF file or can I physically attend an office with my information.

    Thanks,
    IrelandEire

If you are registered for Income Tax you must file a form 11. This can only be done through ROS. There's a small amount of people who can file physical returns but you must provide a good reason why a paper return must be used.

If your taxable non PAYE income is less than 5000 for the year, you should deregister for Income Tax and you'll be able to file a form 12 online.

Are you having difficulty registering for ROS or using ROS?
