How to seperate

    Hi I'm wondering if a marraige breaks up but both parties are agreed and don't want to involve solicitor how do i do that and if I don't get a legal seperation how can we proove we are 4 years apart when it comes to getting a divorce I'm confused

    I think having 4 years worth of utility bills etc, with different names and addresses on them would qualify.

    Back on track from the bickering...

    You don't need to involve a solicitor at all if you are amicable and can agree on how to split. You can simply do a deed of separation together.

    There's a format to follow as it must deal with certain provisions, e.g. Pensions and property rights (children though it doesn't affect you) . But then you sign and date it and have two independent witnesses to sign.

    Having the date on it is the proof that you will need for a future divorce.
    If you don't know the format then there's an online service that will provide you a template that you can adjust together. For an additional fee AFAIR they will check the validity and the costs are very cheap.

    Bear in mind though that in a divorce, the judge can overrule aspects but if it is fair then it will be used as the basis for a divorce agreement.
