We have lots of birds of prey in the area but today I saw something different. It was a large bird of prey with silver metal sort of thing on its wing with the number 23 on it.
How can I find out what it was?

    Give us a few clues..

County / habitat / colour of plumage etc etc.
Size compared to a Hooded crow or another bird you are familiar with.

There are databases online with tag numbers, but I have no idea how to search them based on just a tag number.
Quick google showed a common Buzzard knocking around Waterford back in 2017 with tag #23.

    Hi Fiacha.
    Yes you are correct.
Can you send me the link please. Whatever combo I am googling I can't find it.

It's weird because I see so many buzzards every week yet this is the first I've seen tagged.
On a clear day it wouldn't be uncommon to see 5-10 different buzzards in the area.
