I'm wondering what the chances of mackerel are from the shire this early? I know it can depend on the area. What I *do* know is that I've caught mackerel in this place up until mid November, but I'm unsure if this tells me anything regarding how *early* they'll be back. Thanks for any input in advance! I'm wondering what the chances of mackerel are from the shire this early? I know it can depend on the area. What I *do* know is that I've caught mackerel in this place up until mid November, but I'm unsure if this tells me anything regarding how *early* they'll be back.

Thanks for any input in advance! I'll be doing it in the Caherciveen area if that helps anyone (can be more specific if necessary).

I was on Valentina island 2 years ago at Easter and there was mackerel caught off the pontoon, not huge numbers but plenty of singles on feathers.
Easter Sunday was the 16th of April that year.
