MacBook Pro 2015 - can I install OS 10.12.2?

My MacBook Pro is currently running 10.11.6

I’d like to install updated camera software. But, this requires 10.12.2.

When I look for iOS Updates, nothing happens.

So, can I install 10.12.2 on this Mac? If so, how?

    Thanks.

    D.

Your Macbook Pro should be capable of running the latest OSX which is 10.14.4. I have it running on a mid 2012 Macbook Pro.
Have you tried updating via the App store?. ( White A in a blue circle on the left hand side of the Dock).

    Thanks, that worked perfectly.

It took almost an hour, but Mojave is running and fully updated.

    One odd thing...

I installed the camera software and it has no red X close button. It’s greyed out. The yellow and green button are fine.

So, I have to close the program via its name at the top of the screen.

Not a big deal, but why is this happening?

    Thanks again.

No idea. It happens to me the odd time but I put it down to being a "feature" of 10.14.4 when running on an older machine.

Is the update worth it in general? Did you time machine first?

I've a 2015 MBP running beautifully but getting the itch to update the OS.

I only use this Mac for tethered photography.

I needed the update to avail of a bug fix in photography software.

So, I couldn’t comment on the general use of the update.
