Hi - has anyone here ever dealt with this crowd? Or can anyone recommend a garage/site in Dublin that pays for cars and takes them away? I've been on CarsBoughtForCash.ie, UsedCarBuyer.ie etc and I'm a bit concerned about how legit or not they are. Not interested in selling privately before anyone suggests DoneDeal etc. Would appreciate any direction. Thanks!

I've no first hand experience, but i'd say they're fine, once you don't mind accepting an offer of 25% of your cars value.

Used them a few months ago and was very happy with them. Took them 4 days to get a time slot to get out to pick the car up. (Dublin 3)

I cancelled one morning as the car was blocked in by a neighbour and they were fine, got another appointment about 3 days later.

Left the log book and key in the car, they picked it , never met them as I was at wotk. €90 cheque arrived about 4 days later.

    Would use them again.

Actually used them this week. Call them up and tell them what you need collected and from where. They'll call you back to arrange collection. They give you a cheque and receipt on collection and you receive destruction cert a few weeks later.

My second time using them. I'd recommend.

I've used car take back. They issue carts of destruction upon receipt of vehicle. No issues with them.

They issue carts of destruction upon receipt of vehicle.

    Sounds ominous.

I sold my car to usedcarbuyer.ie and was really impressed with the service.

He paid about 65% of the "Carzone rate", but more importantly paid via bank prior to collection, handled the transfer of ownership online on the day, and viewed and collected it without me having to go anywhere.

    How old was the car?

Hi KathleenF, can I ask, did you ever get around to using CarTakeBack? If you did, how was the process? Did you get your money ok etc??

Sorry to add onto the old thread but...anyone else dealt with this company?

I have two cars I need taken away and scrapped, they're offering me €75 each for them, while local scrapyards are offering nothing!
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them, any problems etc? cheers

Nice one, just waiting on a quote back from usedcarbuyers too, in case I might eke out another few quid. Be glad to get something for them at any rate.

Dealt with them late last year, got a few quid for the old car whereas the scrapyard was offering nothing. Very good to deal with.

Gonna go with them myself, had rang around all the local scrapyards and been given the 'scrap metal prices are gone down' line from all of them.
One lad started saying it was cos of the Coronavirus?! Not sure of that line of thinking tbh..

    Cars both only weigh 500kg
each roughly so I'm delira with getting 150 for the two of them, picked up and all.
    Happy days!
