SDS drill recommendations

I'd try Aldi or Lidl. I got my SDS kango drill in Aldi for the same price but it came with a pile of bits and chisels in a nice storage carry case.
It's taken dogs abuse over one year and is still going strong.
Mainly use it to kango out concrete but also use it to drill concrete and block from time to time.
Works great but on the bulky and heavy side.
    Quick edit.
I see this one comes with bits too. The Aldi one is slightly heavier but has a 1500w motor compared to the 1000w in Argos.

I'm sick of using the hammer drill and spending 30 mins to drill a single hole in concrete

Seen this on Argos (got perfect reviews on the UK site)

Can anyone in the know let me know if it's good or not

Don't wanna be spending hundreds on something I use rarely

There's a 1500w on screwfix for a tenner more. I got one and its fine for occasional use. A previous (similar quality) collapsed when demolishing a wall with it so occasional use only ☺

And it’s available even cheaper without all the kit if you want.

First time I’ve ever written /tread it’s that good and value for money :D

I've had a couple of the cheap SDS drills and they all drill well but they have two major problems one is they are far to heavy to use for any length of time and that they aren't very accurate.

The cheaper DeWalt, Makita, Hitachi, Bosh etc SDS drills will be less than €150 and will at least last twice as long, be far easier and more accurate to use.

One of the cheapest of the better ones is this Bosh https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-2100-Rotary-Hammer-Drill/dp/B006P06Z9Y/ the cheap ones already mentioned are more powerful but lets face it the average DIYer wants to put a nice clean hole in a wall not demolish it.

The problem is many are too powerful, your much better off with one with a safety clutch. The cheap ones can catch you out, break a wrist or take you off a ladder. A good one for around €150 should have a safety clutch (but check the specs), much better buy in my opinion. Hitachi would be my preferred brand, but there's lots of others as good. A good SDS will make any job much easier.

The Titan one looks good but over 6kg? Is that the case and everything or just the drill?
I'd be wrecked holding that up all day

A few quid less than most. It's good enough quality, I've drill a load of 12mm holes in concrete with it. It's fairly savage at them. So far so good.

It has a safety clutch too, so well worth it.

It's a fantastic drill, just read some of the reviews from all sorts of people using it for differing reasons.

Has a safety clutch and anti-virbration. I bought it for a specific job and have ended up using features like chisel etc. when I didn't think I'd need that. Haven't had any problems with accuracy.

Yes it's heavy, I've used it one-handed many times though and I'm not the strongest. Maybe if you were planning on drilling non-stop back to back holes for hours
it might be a problem but normal use I don't find the weight a problem.

I buy DeWalt XR everything else but this is up there with my favorite purchase in terms of reliability and performance

Sounds good, will plump for that then, only a few euro more and probably worth it for the safety clutch.
Anyone know how reliable Screwfix are for delivery - they say 2-3 days? Wanna get this sorted out this week

I've ordered tons off them and usually get the item within a few days...unless out of stock etc.

I normally ordered from uk version of site as find it's cheaper paying exchange via card than their conversion...granted I haven't checked rates in a while

If you do a lot of work with the chisels you'll find the SDS "chuck" wears on the cheaper ones and you end up with noticeable movement when when you need it to drill particularly with smaller drills. I've an old Hitachi SDS drill that has drilled thousands of 10mm holes in concrete and has no noticeable chuck wear. The cheap Draper SDS drill I have slops all over the place after far less use.

Won't be using it that much - got 7 holes that need drilling right now, 3 through the houses concrete walls and 4 into a wall that has pebbles/marble or something in it. Last time I used the hammer drill on that wall it took 30 minutes for one hole - it was like trying to drill through diamond
But I'm sure I'll have use for it in the future as well but sporadically so cheap is fine and not worth spending hundreds
