    29 yo male here.

I am being referred to an endocrinologist (hormone specialist) due to recent blood test results which showed very low testosterone. The doc was shocked with how low it was.

About 3 years ago i did 2 steroid cycles with testosterone (stupid, i know!).

For the past year i am riddled with libido issues, ED, depression, social anxiety, belly fat, sweating etc etc, which is why i went to my doc. Anti-depression Meds didnt work.

Question is when i go to the endocrinologist do i tell them my past history with steroids...or pretend nothing? I'm afraid it might affect my chances with getting replacement therapy (if i need it).

    Thanking you!

Yeah of course you do. Why wouldn't you tell him?

It would be hard for an professional in any field to help you if you withhold relevant information. If that is one of the causes of the issue then the doc needs to know that in order to treat you effectively.

Tell him everything you think is relevant. It makes his job easier.

Put it this way, if an alcoholic can get a new liver after a lifetime of self inflicted abuse than why shouldn't you get the hormone treatment after a couple of relatively minor mistakes?

If you don't tell him, how can he do his job?

He's not there to judge you, just get your hormones working again!

If you give him half facts, he may also come to wrong conclusions that could lead to unnecessary treatment or investigations.

100% tell him... I know a lot of people on steroids and they all talk to their doctors about it, its not a big deal. Believe it or not its legal to take steroids.. also did you do a PCT? did you just take test? How much exactly? Very odd it would shut you down this badly. Good luck bud.

You absolutely must disclose these things when going through medical visits / procedures. I had some small surgery a few years ago and they kept asking me if I took steroids or anything else when they learnt I went to the gym - because most people try to hide it and it can have disastrous effect if you get administered/prescribed medication without the knowledge.

If you're concerned the Doctor will contact the Gardai, he absolutely won't.

It's legal to own and take steroids, distribution and importation are illegal. Tell him everything.
