A house second hand , had a corner and a few small areas showing damp stain.

It was painted with damp stain paint some months back and a small repair was carried out where water had come through ..

I now notice damp stain COMPLETELY DRY and getting bigger on same ceiling.
If it was damp or wet I would understand ,but it's completely dry.
It may be possible that the ceiling was given a quick touch up before the house went for sale....any ideas why this is happening?

Well it’s one of two things...either damp stain paint isn’t working or there is still a small leak which is why it’s drying fairly quick.

You need to investigate to make sure it’s not the latter.
