Hi all. Pricing a loader for a 6630 JD. It will mainly just be loading/unloading silage bales from an outfarm to home Place. Too much hassle dragging loading shovel each time. So far it's JD 643r for 12k. MX412 10.8k, Rossmore 9.5k. All have soft ride, multi dock, painted, standard joystick. Then there's Sonarol SNR500 WITH soft ride, standard joystick, no multi dock, mechanical self levelling for 7k. All are euro headstock. I've to get load sensing for Sonarol (€430). Maybe I've to get it for all loaders?

Basically anyone have a sonarol here? It would be off the tractor when not in use and while the multi dock is great, it's not a deal breaker. Thoughts?

No direct experience with those brands but what I will tell you is that when the soft drives came in first, your first instinct would probably have been that they are a waste of money.

If you use one for a few days, you'll find you never go back.

Have you looked at the secondhand market. I picked up a JD 583 last year for handy money from a dealers yard. All I say is get a loader with tidy brackets & a loader that is handy to. put on/take off. If your planing in trading tractor on in a few years a matching JD loader will shift it faster.

A 2nd hand h340 John deere loader for 9200. I nearly fell over!

We bought a new loader at home 3 years ago now. We looked at them all, John Deere, Rossmore, MX and Hauer. I genuinely believe the Hauer was the best built. Bought the Hauer for 8k I think. Self level, multi dock, joystick and the best of all was the electric soft ride. The guy told us he never sold a electric soft ride before, but we insisted on it. Basically you can turn on and off the soft ride from a switch in the cab. The switch was neatly put in a blank switch in the console. Fierce hand when going from field to road, just flick the switch where as u might not bother to jump outta the tractor to pull the valve lever and just drive away. The Hauer loader is 3 years old now. We've a JD 633 loader aswell on a 07 6230 which has soft ride aswell but it's not near as good as the Hauer. The Hauer s soft ride is as good as a loading shovel.

I see a guy in croom in limerick is selling those Hauer loaders. We have front linkage on one if the tractors from them and it's nice and neat compared to the lynx front linkage on another one. Nice looking loader. Where did you go to buy if you dont mind me asking?

We bought it in Croom. Got it in john deere green aswell. He's on the ball with his prices as we priced around. There's a newer model loader than ours now. I think it has the self level under the main boom or else it's internally on the boom. I remember seeing a picture of it last year. Looked very tidy.

Just wondering on these as still toying with getting a loader for the 7740 but very hard to get brackets.
Rang a few places and most will charge me extra to get the brackets made :mad:

One of the breaker yards might have a pair from a scrapped tractor to suit the brand you're looking at?

Like looking for hens teeth, most lads a keeping the brackets and changing loaders. Apparently 40 series isn't standard so they have to be modified

If you Google 7740 with loader for sale and sometimes tractor and loader come up or loaders or loader brackets.

Don’t all loaders have an on/off switch for the soft ride? I know our Quicke has a built in switch on the joystick. I don’t think we ever switched it off though, no need to as all work can be done with it on.

Go for a 653. Very good loader. You should pick up a good second hand one for around the €5k mark. Gribbens up North have alot of loaders & maybe worth a try.

John Deere, Rossmore, MX and Hauer unless you spec it come with valve outside, usually on the crossmember out front between the boom. You've to jump out and pull the lever on the valve.

His point was that there is no need to switch it off usually

To be honest as we never switch it off having the switch on the joy stick is no big advantage. Why do you turn it off?

Are the quicke brackets for the new 6 series JD like 6140/6150 etc the same ones that would fit a 6630 does anyone know?
