I would like to know the type of windows I have - apologies, I will describe them as best I can.

They look a bit like the old Georgian windows that you pull up and down. Once you unclasp the window in the middle you can pull the bottom half of the window in and you can push the top half of the window out.

Does anyone have windows like this? If so what are they called and do you find them drafty?

They're known as sliding sash windows.

I dont have those type of windows myself but like any window they can of course become drafty over time. But you can remedy this in most cases......have a read through this

Cheers, these are in a place we are looking to buy. Have only seen them on a dry sunny day. Built in the last 20 years so not too sure what the story might be.

    Thanks for the link
