My Son has been offered a 97 Honda Firestorm Which is English registered but stored in Northern Ireland. The Bike is clean but not running and has its Uk Registration Documents V5 but needs work to get it Roadworthy.
He Knows he has to pay VRT but not sure how to go about it. What paperwork does he need along with V5 does he need.

Just the full V5, a dated receipt of sale (it can be hand written) and a debit/credit card. Book an appointment at an NCT Centre for VRT inspection and they'll give you a price (€2 for the 1st 350c, €1 for every cc over 350 with 10% of per year old) and when you pay you get the registration number. Just make sure that its showing more than 6k km or you'll be hit for VAT.

    You'll need a VRTVPD2 as well.

I brought in a 04 VFR last month and VRT was only €113, which was what the vrt calculator had said it would be.
