Hi everyone, I'm new here and was hoping for some advice on buying a second hand ev. ,10,000 euro max. It would never have to do long journeys. Around 20 miles per day max. If anyone could point me in the right direction of car make/model I'd appreciate it.

Nearly any one would do the mileage ok, even older ones which may have lost some battery capacity.

What's your circumstances? These might narrow your search a bit.

Do you need to carry 1,2,3,5 people?
    What extras do you want?
Top of spec or basic will do?

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

You can get an EV as cheaply as about €6k, but they would be the very first generation. A good compromise within your budget is a 141 Nissan Leaf. It has the newer type battery that is less prone do degradation. It would have a usable range of about 100km, so plenty for your use. You'd pick one up from about €9k

Thanks for your help. The car would probably carry a max of 3 people plus car seat. A basic model would do I think. The car would be on an island so def no long journeys....or they turn into swims.

Here's a search on cars Ireland, basically using filters of:
    Electric
    Price between 5k and 10k

    https://www.carsireland.ie/search-results.php?min_price=5000&max_price=10000&fuel_type_id=4&orderby=-8

Note that nearly all Renault Zoe will have an additional battery charge per month.

Most leafs have the battery owned outright so no additional charges.
