If your worried maybe get some more details and give the local Garda station down there a bell, if anything suspect they will know.

I rang him about an 8 x 5 Nugent trailer before and he seemed sound out on the phone. He didn't budge much on the price so I didn't buy. Buying a trailer can be a minefield and I've seen a few very suspect ones. A certain ethic minority are known to deal in stolen trailers so be careful.
