Pulley cord stuck in the on position, showing red, no power going into it, cant budge the cord now is it a job for handyman or electrician? don't want to spend a fortune for something simple

It needs replacing simple job but really needs an electrician. There was a thread quite recently here and someone replaced their own one came back to congratulate themselves and a few days later was back looking for more advice as it stopped working.

Work in the bathroom, kitchen and outdoors requires a RECI electrician by law though many will try.

There is so much current going through a shower power switch that a poor connection will generate a lot of heat and even fire so it's best left to the professionals, and that's apart from earthing issues on the whole electricity + water side of things.
