Small Victories

On the way out tonight while walking through Dublin town I got a bit of a pain in the abdomen. Had to move fast but got into a McDonalds and rushed up to their junkie toilets.

Had one of those gorrila’s finger experiences where it feels like it’s coming out breech. Even had to do those pregnancy breaths and clutch on to the backs of my knees. Was glad when it was out. Started into the clean up and to my eternal surprise I’d been blessed with what they call “a magic”. I was really worried I was going to held up in that hellhole for a good 20 minutes.

Now, I’m not 25 anymore so it’s not like this would affect anyone else’s night, no one will be around back there but still. It’s a great feeling and has really made my night, just enjoying a pint now with a big smile on my face waiting for a friend to arrive.

Anyone else have any small victories recently or have you been bogged down in paperwork?

‘A winner, all white’. Top class experience for you, Emmet. Must have a tip-top diet at the moment, and keeping the pints to a minimum.

Had quite the opposite experience during the week - got the dreaded ‘witches kiss’, with a huge amount of paperwork needed before the cargo left port. Not good.

Haven’t been bogged down in paperwork since the dawn of the paperless office*... a small victory if ever there was one!

From the ridiculous to the sublime, I went in with a world of worry but once the beast was bunted through it was plain sailing.

Speaking of, hockeyed through a few pints of the black stuff tonight. Don’t think there’ll be a repeat of my recent good fortune in the morning. May well have to look into that Jack fella’s bidet idea, but in a homemade fashion by perching over the bath tub then using the shower part for the hosing down.
