I want to get in to a new career and I would like to give programming a go.
What is the best online course/ course provider to start learning?

Have a look on this thread, often free programming courses, will give you a good idea of the basics...

Depending on your background, you may qualify for a springboard course...

A free course in an established institution with a recognised qualification at the end...

Has anyone any experience with this course:

I come from a construction engineering background, no software experience.

Programming is such a broad topic. Do you know if you want to get into web or mobile or Windows/Unix or embedded development.

In terms of knowledge and learning how to program I have found pluralsight very useful. Try before you buy if possible.
If you are looking to do an evening/part time/full time course to get a qualification (and you should if you want to change career) then maybe try one of the big universities or Institutes of technology.

Whatever you do best of luck, it's not easy to get into, but with perseverance you'll do it.
