Yellow bark on Ash trees

I have a few ash trees in the garden that have yellow bark.
Just wondering if this a nutrient deficiency or some kind of infestation?
The garden is coastal but other ash trees in the garden seem to be OK, is there anything I can do to help these trees along?

looks like lichen to me - no harm whatsoever.

There is definitely harm being done as these trees are about 2/3 the height of other trees in the garden and some of the branches have rotted.
I always thought it was down to salt being blown from the sea nearby but other trees in the garden don't seem to be affected .

Are you sure they're not just the slower growing Golden-barked Ash?
