Fire cert

    If a fire cert that was issued in 2010 for a guesthouse b&b is it still valid. As I understand it, a new cert is required if works to original design are altered?

    yes, if those works incur and newer or greater contravention of the existing fire cert.

    if no new works carried out, then original FSC is still valid.. it doesnt have an expiry

    FSC still valid as long as it’s been constructed in accordance with that granted FSC.

    Now there may be some issues if the works are only commencing now as you have to comply with current regulations and there’s been a few alterations to the relevant BS codes since then.
