    Even if they can be held to it, its likely she will either fail probation or be made redundant and be let go very quickly.

    I agree, even if you got it sorted out the fact they would try and pull this kind of move 4 months after signing contracts etc. would put me off working for them tbh. Comes across as a bit amateur actually.
