I am an IT contractor, work contracts in Ireland. Considering a contract to work in Belgium, working through the finances. The recruiter has stated that i invoice them minus VAT - they have stated that is 'not required' due to my statis as a non-residemt, however it smells like they are pushing the VAT obligation on to me as part of the negotiated rate. Am i thinking correct, that is VAT is due while contracting abroad? I would be invoicing a belgian company from my Irish one. Presumably it would be the Irish VAT rate as well as i would still be taxed as an Irish resident
