Serial Planning objector strikes again .....

    So it appears Mr Brian McDonagh strikes again, individual most famed for running the apple data centre into he ground amongst other things now puts in objection to a data centre on the former site of IFI fertiliser plant just outside arklow , Wicklow.

    Now like or loath data centers they are part of our growing technology requirements. But this site was a prime example of good land use. The site is a pretty grim concrete area strewn with relics from fertiliser production including some ugly contrete towers which are frankly an eyesore. It has large power to the site due to the former use of it and great access road network. Not to mention the area could do with the jobs boost.


    Frankly I'm perplexed how our planning laws are not rexamined when you can have a single person with quite blatantly obvious alterior motives destroy plans across the country.

    I do think we need a change in planning makeup. I'd be in favour of something like small independent committees spread out across the country with qualified people and general public members on them like a jury who deal with these sorts of objections and have a look both at the objection and the person's motivation to it. And determine quite quickly like 2 weeks to chuck it out or let it pass. These committees would be selected from the far side of the country depending on the origin of the application to remove any perceived conflicts .


    But this guy here... He is having a laugh now. Probably kill of another project whilst he is still trying to get his own land purchase to use in delgany.
