Get those Brexit orders in! :D
Has anything been said what will happen when buying from the likes of Amazon if there is a 'no deal' ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,809 ✭✭✭Bawnmore

I always find these a bit of a pain unless you have something in mind that's sold directly by Amazon. Have yet to actually be able to use one. Handy if you do though I guess.

It works on pre-orders! but, if you are going past March 30th on the delivery date its becoming a massive unknown on what will happen!

Usually it will cancel, unless you are unlucky and it's too far gone in the dispatch process. If you can absorb the cost of ordering twice, simply refuse delivery of the first item when it is delivered, it'll go back to amazon and you get a full refund.

just got an email... it can't be cancelled it seems

ah well. only a fiver..... or maybe I'll just have to find something else to buy today :D

Not Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.

^ 'Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.' should work.. sold by third parties and fulfilled by Amazon won't.

Just went to order a pair of Kids shoes I had in my basket ... VAT is adding over £7 to them when I go to pay ... not usually anywhere near that high ... usually only £1-2 if even that ... is this Brexit kicking in???

The shoes may not have any vat charging for UK, so it's going from 0% to 21%? If the shoes are over £30, that'd be that?

up to 5.5 should be zero VAT here.

    https://www.revenue.ie/en/vat/vat-rates/search-vat-rates/S/shoes-children-childrens-clothing-and-footwear-.aspx

Some people have emailed them and got stuff changed. The offer might be over by the time you get an answer though, so you might be better off using a mail service like parcel motel, the fiver off is more than the mail service cost.

Had a pre-order sitting in my orders. Ordered it again, got a fiver off, and cancelled the original order. Thanks for the heads-up!

Just bought the new fire stick with voice remote and new eco dot 3rd generation for £40.

    Amazing deal.

I topped up by £50 and got a £5 voucher (a few days ago but maybe still going)

Then I got the £5 off 25 or more.

And theres a special offer for echo and fire stick here:

(Just click configuration to get offer with both)

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0791RGQW3/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_3bpKCb8RW0M0Z

It wouldn't deliver to Dublin so I have a place in Belfast it's getting delivered too but I'm sure you could use parcel motel etc.

Had £5.34 credit I completely forgot about so was wondering why I was getting £10.34 off my order!

    Happy days, thanks OP!

Oh yeah forgot about that if using mail forwarding. I chose the expedited and it's two separate deliveries, there was a standard option too, is that also separate? As mentioned I'm getting it delivered to my work in Belfast so it's not a problem for me.

Looks like it comes as a bundle so I'd imagine they ship together?

I actually put through the order and then went on Chat with them - they are refunding the VAT and I got the £5 applied so happy days :)

Got a real bargain there - Amazon Firestick for €24.29 (+ £0.99)....but be warned you will need a UK/NI delivery address.

The firestick is normally selling at £39.99 but Prime members can buy it for £24.99 today (not sure if its an ongoing promotion). First of all I signed up for a free 1 week trial of Prime which costs 99 pence. Then I placed the order for the firestick and £15 is then automatically discounted at checkout. Next I applied the BIGTHANKS promo code to get it down to £19.99 and not being greedy I decided to pay in Euro which worked out at €24.29. :)

    Thanks to HUKD :)

No I've noticed when buying bundles they come seperate delivery's,. Each item had a different delivery date.. The firestick is tomorrow and the echo is end of the week

I would chase that up as Im currently logged in with my ROI address and the offer is still showing there for me....although I've already made use of it with a NI address. The T&C's dont say anything about restrictions here

Fire HD 8 tablet currently has 20 off at the checkout + plus another 5 off with the code....works out at 56.99 sterling with Free delivery to Ireland.

    I am using Amazon app.

Most of them items I am seeing are not included in the deal. And I have to click one by one.

Is there any way I could set seller to "Sold by amazon" in order to be eligible for 5 pounds discount?
    I am prime member.

    Thanks

Yep, I availed of the same offer, though got another cheap item to get it over the £25 threshold for the added fiver off! I did pay an additional €3.95 for ParcelWizard just for convenience.

Thing is, I'm on the 30-day Prime membership trial... so no VAT charged etc.

    This might be a factor

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,201 ✭✭✭Sappy404

Yeah it worked for me, but wouldn't work on warehouse items or items fulfilled by Amazon but sold by a 3rd party.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,386 ✭✭✭✭rubadub

Worked for me last night, I did not have to type in the code, an item had an "apply discount" tab or similar.

I did have to going prime for a trial though, as one of my 2 items was prime only.

Order placed at 11pm last night, 1 item dispatched at 3:20 the other at 11:11 this morning.

I had a few WH items which weren't eligible and an Aeropress which was £22 (with VAT) so needed another £3 or thereabouts to avail of voucher.. this was 11.30pm last night so I panicked..

I didnt have to add anything to the order to get free delivery even when it ended up at £24.99 with prime membership and then further down to £19.99 with the promo code. Im assuming they based the free delivery on the original price of £39.99.

Just as an aside and if its any help, if you see anything marked as "eligible for click and collect" you can choose to have those items delivered free (subject to the min £25 spend) to a couple of different post offices in Strabane. Just produce the tracking number and your driving licence as ID when you go to collect. Its free and delivery is a hell of a lot faster. I've been doing that for ages.
