A cross border banking query, I was under the impression, possibly wrongly, that the EU had introduced regulations that mean the banks can't charge more for a cross border (SEPA) transaction within the EU than they do for an internal transfer. A cross border banking query, I was under the impression, possibly wrongly, that the EU had introduced regulations that mean the banks can't charge more for a cross border (SEPA) transaction within the EU than they do for an internal transfer.

Am I right on this, or have I got it wrong.

If that is the case, the next question is

Does that also apply where the transaction ends up being made between 2 EU currencies ( EG Sterling to Euro)?

Does this apply to all EU countries, including those that are part of SEPA but not part of the Euro zone?
