Electric Boiler Hydronic Space Heating

Anyone out there with an electric boiler, accumulator / thermal store setup running night rate electricity to heat their home?

I see SEI have an electricity night rate cost of around 9 cents per kwh v's oil (which i use currently) which varies depending on time of year...think oil is less efficient / expensive during the winter due to lower lower temperature effect...

It would be nice not to have to look at that big green oil tank to taking up space in my garden, or to have to listen to the noisy oil burner in the garden....

A oil/gas fired condensing boiler and system should achieve at least 80% efficiency, based on my last oil fill @ 69C/litre = 6.54C/kwh = 8.2C/kwh@80% efficiency then it wouldn't make much sense to install a thermal store based on those figures. One would need a thermal store of ~ 1500 litres to give say 75 kwh/day, CH+HW, this would then require electric heating element power of ~ 9kw in order to heat this water back up in the 9 hours of off peak power.

If you can't stand the sight of oil/gas then it would make some sense as long as you have room for a 1500 litre thermal store.
