    This is really annoying me.

I'm setting up an android box and want to get the likes of Netflix, RTE player, 4OD etc but for the life of me RTE player just wont play the videos.

The app downloaded and I gave it all the permissions, I open the app go to play something and either's a black screen or it plays adverts and eventually it's finished with the adverts it's just a black screen again.

No issues with Netflix or 4OD, it's just RTE player

    Latest APP version etc etc

    What Android box and version?

Works fine on Nexus 9 (Nougat) and RN5(Oreo).

If rooted with Magisk, try enabling hiding root on the app.

This probably should have been posted in the Android Devices forum, for more assistance.

Either that or they optimised it to work with the Oneplus 5T as I have no issues with it.
