    Hello,

Can anyone tell me what the going rate is for a finished organic pig at factory?

Either price per kg or price at around 80kg kill out.

    Many thanks.

    Hello.

Thanks for the reply, so it's €180-€200 for the animal and the 90 is for getting it butchered if I want to bring it home to the freezer?

    Hello,

I got the price of non organic pigs from Google and it was around €1.40/kg. For an 80kg weight that comes out at €112 so €180 for organic translates to €2.25/kg.

With that being a difference of €.85/kg then it seems to be a better return than on organic milk production.

Anyone know the price of organic beef /kg?

There is no where commercially killing organic pigs. There are only a handful of organic pig producers and none of any scale. Nearly all are killing for direct sales or live sales to other organic farmers for their freezer.

    Hello,

Any idea of a ball park figure of the worth of 80kg of organic pork?

Basically I am trying to put together a theoretical business plan! Any help would be appreciated.

    Many thanks.

    I've no idea sorry.

Try castlewood farm in Furrow they are the only people I know selling organic pork. They will be able to tell you what they are charging

    Hello.

I was googling organic pork and found a small farm that sells full or half pigs. The price of a full organic pig completely butchered is just over €600 and extra if you want any further processing done.

    Just thought I'd share that.
