25 minutes walk from the Strip, 15 minutes walk from the old town

Hey you are about a 25 min walk to the main strip. You are in old town Albufeira which also has bars and restaurants but not a strip as such. Still a lovely area.

However you can hop on the little tourist train goes to and from the new town and old town which takes about 10/15 mins.

Thanks for the replies. Was hoping to be closer to the main strip to be honest. Could ye recommend an apartment more in between if possible

The only place I have stayed there is Areias Village but is more up near the main strip - lovely place and only a stones throw from one of the nicest beaches on the Algarve known as Praia dos Alemães.

If you go to Hotels.com or Booking.com you can view a map instead of listed apartments so you can choose from there.

If you look here I have dropped the map right in the middle and you can see a few hotels listed in pink - https://www.google.com/maps/@37.0888932,-8.2391945,17z

Thanks a lot for that. I’m still in 2 minds about almar , I’m sure there’s lots to see/do In in old town. And if I wanted to go for drinks / night out 25 minuites isn’t too much of a walk or taxi drive.

We (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed at Areias Village last year. Would recommend it. Very near "new" town without being stuck inside it. Would much prefer the old town - went there maybe 5 of the 7 nights we were in Albufeira. Lots of restaurants, shops and bars (from quiet side-street to busy disco bars) there. I dont recall taxis being expensive either.

Make sure you go to the Aquashow Park which is a fantastic water park. You can buy tickets online and I think you get a discount too - http://www.aquashowparkhotel.com/en

There is also a complimentary bus that will bring you to and from the park.

Sorry loads of things coming back to me now...

I would recommend getting a transfer to and from the airport as its approx. 40 min drive away.

The two times we went we used Yellow Fish which I cannot fault. Free WIFI and water in the car too which helps if you land and its 30 degrees out.

Another one here to recommend Yellowfish transfers. Have used them 3 or 4 times and never any issue.

I’m booking through an agency and I know transfers are included. They are recommending almar and that’s all I’m unsure of at the moment

Thanks for the info , getting excited now about the place :)

The old town is a much nicer place to stay IMO.
The lower end of the strip is complete madness, but young 18/26 year olds would love it.

Hi, is this a car/mpv just for your party so your not stopping at other places. A door to door service?

Any recommendations for a hotel with kid's activities that would do all inclusive accommodation?

What kind of night life are you looking for? Plenty of good restaurants and bars in the old town, with lively pubs and plenty music.

The strip is much more of a party place, loud music and flashy lights.

For an all round holiday id go for the old town, for a lads/girls holiday, new town.

    Was only there last week:D
