Civil Service AP competition

    Looking for a little advice.

Justice are currently holding an internal AP competition and I'm currently filling out the form.

Section 2 is Recent Career History where you are asked to detail main responsibilities and significant features of your last 4 most recent changes of post either within the CS or from outside.

I only joined CS in 2015 as a CO and was promoted to EO in 2017. I haven't really done anything exciting in those years but if I reach into my private sector years I can call on some pretty impressive stuff - before the crash.

    What should I do?
    1. Stick with the 4 most recent, and incredibly boring, roles.
    2. Reach back and put in some genuinely impressive stuff.

    TIA

You need your whole career history including the gaps.

    I know.

Full history goes in Section A1.

Section A2 is titled "Recent Career History" and is specifically for a max of 4 positions.

In that case I would follow what it says. You don't want to look like you are unable to follow simple instructions.

They will be able to see that you have other experience in the other section. If there is a section for competancies you can bring in the great stuff you did pre civil service there.
