would the inside of a refrigerator door be covered under the manufacturers warranty on a 2 yr old fridge,

The notch that holds the shelf inside the door snapped as the shelf was being removed for cleaning, its going to be impossible to fix as its an integrated part of the door panel.

Would this be covered under warranty would anyone know.

    Thanks in advance

Its unlikely you have a warranty anymore - except possibly a post-in parts only, labour at crippling rates one; as far as I can see they only do 1 year.

Going on consumer rights, which would still apply - it would be extremely, extremely hard to claim this was a manufacturing defect; they will claim that the shelf was removed too hard; even if this is not the case.

Pretty much all parts are replacable, no idea what a new door would cost without knowing the exact model, but it is worth asking a local independent repairer / parts shop for a quote.
