I recently purchased a jacket from www.superdry.com the english site which i have ordered from on numerous occassions.
Strangely the jacket was delivered by DHL its normaly DPD!
On the tracking email there is a customs charge of 40 euro awaiting payment the jacket was 73 euro free shipping!
I ordered from a UK site and have never been asked to pay any customs before!
It turns out the wrong label was on the package which would mean it came from outside EU a superdry error!
Today i got a text from DHL stating if i dont pay the 40 euro it will be handed over to a debt collection?
Has anyone had an issue like this before?
Any suggestions my next course of action?

Sounds like you have it in hand? do you? as it is not 100% clear if you are seeing this info in advance. I would refuse to accept it if you do.

Mod: <SNIP>This has been explained many times before, as you are well aware. Please stop posting your opinion as fact.

Did they not give any hint upon delivery that more charges might be coming down the line?

OP, contact Superdry, it sounds like a fairly simple error. If it shows as shipping from outside the EU, couriers have an obligation to clear customs. Superdry need to sort this out from their side, there isn't a lot you can do.

Just because you ordered from a UK site does not mean it came from the UK. Pre brexit they may have moved. Order from Dell UK or Dell IE, items come from China.

You dont pay import Duties on a Dell ordered from uk or ireland off their site!
Issue is sorted now anyway i refused delivery and it was sent back and was sent out another item in its place with correct shipping label!
