    Hi,

Have composted before but now will have more 'green' (grass) to compost

I can avail of free woodchips-horse manure which I can use to mix with the grass .

    Any downsides ?

Horse manure already has the ideal Carbon:Nitrogen ratio so adding to it is counter productive. Wood chip would be better suited for grass cuttings but it takes longer to break down; more turning etc.
What size pile are you looking at creating?

Thanks. Its woodchip-horse dropping waste from stables. I will have about 2 acres of grass to mix with it.
