My kitchen tap is banjaxed so I'm filling up 5L water bottles from my garden hose and filtering it in a BRITA filter. Is this safe?

Maybe take the hose off the outside tap?

Garden hoses are not food grade hoses, so I'd get that tap fixed very quickly or start using bottled water.

Go into the attic and see how much crap is in the water storage tank. Then fix your kitchen tap

Just be careful you're not picking batwings and mice fluff from your teeth, otherwise you'll be ok..

All joke's aside, it may have a slightly rubber taste from it but if it's clean water you'll be ok

Is it off the mains or from attic? I'm going to guess mains..

Its most likely the same water you drink from your kitchen tap.. but through a hose.. fill direct from the tap the hose is fitted to if it bothers you

my outdoor tap is straight off the mains, and I think that's been the case in previous houses I've lived in. I would take the hose off and get the water straight from the outdoor tap though.

See if you stop the flow of the water with your finger, tank fed taps are easy to stop the water flowing from.

Cold kitchen tap and garden tap are mains supply only and drinkable, unless somebody plumbed it wrong.

Most outside taps come off the. mains line coming in to the kitchen so should be fresh water, not tank water from the attic.
