Radiator in attic conversion not heating up

We have bled all the rads in the house, turned them all off except that one and still no luck

Looking in the hotpress its easy to isolate that pipe that heats that rad because it was added later than the rest - it starts off hot but cools down as we follow it up

Is there anything else we can do or do we need to call out a professional

    Thanks

might not be enough pressure in the system to push the water up..

are you sure all valves are open in the upstairs rad? Including the return valve?

The pressure looks ok, the hubby checked that yesterday and he also checked the valves were open

Should have mentioned it was working fine up to about 2 weeks ago

    Vented or unvented system?.

Bleed the rad with boiler&circ pump off, then run the boiler&system up to full temperature and then switch off and again bleed the rad.
I had to (vented system) force the air out of a neighbors attic rad many years ago by using a funnel attached to a 1/2" length of pipe and sticking up through his attic window to give me enough head to force the air out of this rads system, nothing else worked!.

I'm not sure if its vented or non vented, I ask the hubby when he is home and will pass on your suggestions

    Thanks John

If vented system, check F&E (small) tank full. If un vented check pressure not < 1 bar with system cold, (approx 1.5 to 2 bar when hot.)
