Immediately after booking, I realised I somehow booked a week too early. I used etravel after a Skyscanner search.

Their office hours is Monday to Friday so the 24 hour period to cancel will be long over by the time they receive my date change/cancel email

Their website has fees for doing a change or cancel including what the airline (Cathay Pacific) charge. I can't cancel on the Cathay Pacific Website as it's been done from etravel Website.

Just got an email from etravel saying that will not be available via email or phone unless I pay their stupid travel assistance fee of €25. Wtf?

What are my options guys? I don't see how I can get past this without hanging over loads of cash to etravel :(

Yeah you'll have to pay I'm afraid. This is how they make their money. They buy tickets from the airline when tickets are cheap and sell them on. And in return the airline can't deal with your concern, you have to go through them and pay their fees.
