    Hi,

Im looking to get a NAS for Plex. It has to be able to transcode maybe 2 x 720p streams simultaneously. I reckon 2 bays would be enough. Would I be best in getting a small nas setup or best buying a cheap 2nd hand server. Budget of around €200 excluding drives.

I'm no expert on this, I have a NAS but don't run plex on it.
I think a server should be cheaper to buy but uses more power so expensive to run.
    My 2 bay NAS uses about 15 - 20 watts, a server would probably be 50 - 100 watts.
