Samsung unlock code

Recently moved over from PAYG customer with vodafone to Bill pay with Virgin. I would like to keep my phone so I have only received a new sim.

Stupidly, I signed up to virgin before having my unlock code (Ive already been charged my first month before being able to avail of their service- not their fault, its mine  )

I have an issue however with vodafone, I was quoted 12 days before they could get the unlock code from Samsung. Now its gone past that 12 days, currently 16 days and still no sign.

They are not very helpful, telling me I simply have to wait for Samsung. Is there anything I can do to speed up this process?

12 days seems like an obscene amount of time, anything more than this is outrageous.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Unlock codes can be bought on Ebay for around a tenner. They are genuine hence why they work. Takes couple of hours.

there is always a wait period like this - in terms and conditions no doubt . sometimes they never get back to you unless you remind them again.

as other poster said go to ebay to find a price for a code for your model (need to consider network also sometimes) if you can't wait.

the phone service provider will on no account shorten the period.

in fact they are probably putting a request to the hardware provider and can put the excuse out that the code was not received yet.

also as an unlock usually is a sign of a customer heading to another network there is no motivation for them to be fast.

12 days is 12 days. I can accept what is in the terms and conditions.

However it is touch 25 days now, have been in touch with vodafone on 3 separate occasions only to be told they are at mercy of samsung.

I would prefer to do this the normal route, don't feel I should have to pay for this. Might sound petty, but wasn't aware there was a €10 charge to exit from using Vodafones services.

just buy the code I would say and you'll have it today.

you'll know again to ask way in advance.

just one of those things on locked devices and has always been this way.

Anywhere I see on Ebay they are quoting 14 days delivery.

Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can buy one for samsung galaxy s6 (vodafone is my network currently)
