they look a decent effort from Sony but there is no buzz about Sony phones anymore really - seems to be very little sales revenue at the flagship end or the budget end.

surprised that they are actually still making phones tbh

had a Z3 and it over-heated so much that I never went back.

I am replying to your post on my Z3 Compact. I found it to be a great phone and I have it nearly five years. I did notice that Carphone warehouse stopped selling Sony.

Producing boring square chunks with huge bezels for many years didn't help their cause.

Even their last Gen had huge bezels.

Camera results were never that great either. They never got the software side of the imaging down like Samsung or Apple.

Too late to turn it around I think.

Their sales problems is one thing, but I love their phones and never had any bother with them, each to their own. I ordered the 10 Plus :)

Not enough people like them tho . Hence the poor sales

You could buy a mi 9 on Amazon Spain for 20 more than the Sony 10 plus

    Far superior phone really .

    Take a look.

did you take a look at the mi 9

    - more advanced camera by far - 3 cameras on back.
    rear main camera
    rear zoom camera
    rear wide angle camera

    - latest high-end cpu and 6gb ram

    - amoled screen

    - bigger battery than Sony

Sounds Good, must have a proper look now, although I dont like buying from other eu countries websites, different sockets and hassle of after service etc.

The new Sony arrived here today, its for my father. Must say myself my initial impressions are its a really good looking phone and its very fast, but the aspect ratio is a bit too narrow for my liking and the writing is quite small compared to his old smart ultra 6. He hasn't used it much yet but he likes it.
Sony estore has nothing on their site about returns but I wonder would they take back an opened product?

Im on the market for a phone too, other phones that caught my eye are Moto G7 Plus, Samsung A7. I dont think I would go for the 21:9 aspect ratio that Sony has brought.

amazon has a very good returns policy and EU regulations mean that EU is EU.

so might soon be better buying from a non Amazon uk site!

the mi 9 is in a different league to the other phones that you mention even tho it doesn't cost much more.

e.g. the camera is rated at the very top-end of flagships on dxomark.com even though it costs half of what for example a Samsung S10 would.

19:9 is the std ratio now. Sony doing taller in a differentiation attempt.

Didnt realise 19:9 was the std now, so does that mean they would be as narrow as the 21:9 but just not as tall?
I seen some video reviews of the mi 9 , the specs are great but its not without its downfalls too.
